What a Busy Year It’s Been (And It’s Only August!)

The first part of the year has gone by in a flash. I’ve been thrilled to represent so many beautiful properties in Sarasota. I’m particularly proud of my largest sale to date – 467 Meadow Lark Drive on Bird Key. It was only on the market for 10 days before it sold for $6.35 million. Over a 20-year relationship with these sellers.

In addition, I’ve been involved with many other sales this year including properties on Longboat Key, Lido Beach, Lakewood Ranch, Palmer Ranch, Tidewater Preserve, West of the Trail and Siesta Key.

To give you a sense of what I’ve been working on now, here’s a sample of my recent listings:

  • 4266 Higel Avenue, listed for $4,500,000 a Gulf-front estate lot on Siesta Key
  • Beau Ciel # 601, listed for $1,675,000 in downtown Sarasota – Sale Pending
  • Tangerine Bay #434, listed for $1,175,000 on Longboat Key
  • 7372 Melaleuca Way, listed for $999,000 in Sanderling on Siesta Key
  • 3250 Old Oak Drive, listed for $899,000 West of the Trail, Sarasota
  • 3712 Eagle Hammock Drive, listed for $665,000 in the Hammocks – SalePending
  • 4972 Creekside Trail, listed for $329,000 in Palm Aire
  • 4631 56th Drive East, listed for $239,000 in Bradenton – Sale Pending

As an experienced real estate agent I know not only how to price your home correctly but get you that price!

Listings are certainly valuable pieces of information when evaluating a real estate agent, but another crucial factor is what people who have worked with an agent say about the experience. In that spirit, I invite you to read the thoughtful words of some of my past clients:

Marcia Salkin is an agent extraordinaire! She not only supervised every aspect of successfully selling my home on siesta key while I lived 2,600 miles away.

– Jocelyn W.

If you are thinking or buying or selling in Sarasota, you cannot be in better hands than with Marcia Salkin.

– Mickey and Brooke C.

What do you want in your realtor? Knowledge, experience, enthusiasm and responsiveness with a positive get-it-done attitude. You want Marcia Salkin.

– Judyth Jernudd

For over 30 years, I’ve worked as a real estate agent in the area, helping buyers and sellers realize their real estate dreams. It’s been a privilege to serve my clients all these years, and midway through 2017, I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year will bring.

Property of the Century: Privacy & Sweeping Views on Sarasota Bay

Survey Says: Privacy is the Ultimate Luxury

The other day I was reading an interesting Business Insider article (“Privacy is becoming the ultimate luxury for wealthy homebuyers”) that talked about a recent survey of the world’s wealthiest people. The Luxury Portfolio International survey asked people this question: “If you were wealthy enough to afford whatever house you wanted, what would be first on your list?” And the most frequent answer to the question was privacy.

Privacy is so sought out by the wealthy that often people purchase the homes on either side of their house and across the street. A home with privacy is a retreat from the busy world outside and a refuge for friends and family members.

One of the Most Private Properties in Sarasota

I’m not exaggerating – my listing at 3250 Old Oak Drive is one of the most private properties in Sarasota.

This waterfront property near the North Siesta Key Bridge is almost three acres, a size practically unheard of these days. The large lot size, plus dense foliage of beautiful oaks and specimen plantings, means you won’t see your neighbors or people driving by to take a look. You’ll just see greenery and a sweeping view of Sarasota Bay.

Now is your chance to snap up this one-of-a-kind ultra-private property that’s been owned by one of Sarasota’s oldest families for over 60 years. Listed at $3.95 million, you really won’t find a more private property in such an ideal location that’s just minutes to downtown, Southside Village and our world-class beaches.

And this property is the perfect place to build your dream house. Don’t settle for a home that’s not quite to your liking – here you can create a custom luxury compound to your exact specifications.

You’ll be hard-pressed to top the privacy and beauty of 3250 Old Oak Drive. But you don’t have to take my word for it. Watch this virtual video tour of the property. It just might inspire you to make this special place your very own.

New Sarasota Bayfront Listing on Market for First Time in 60 Years

22 Jul 2016 Posted by Marcia Salkin in Sarasota Luxury Real Estate, Videos of Sarasota, Waterfront Homes, Waterfront Land, West of the Trail

There’s a certain kind of property that doesn’t come around very often. This is it.

My new listing at 3250 Old Oak Drive is a stunning piece of waterfront property. It’s been owned by one of Sarasota’s oldest families for over 60 years. And now is your chance to make it your own.

One reason it’s a standout? It’s nearly 2.8 acres, and you just don’t see waterfront property that large in today’s market very often.

Listed at $4.5 million, the property offers sweeping views of Sarasota Bay. And the location couldn’t be better in the heart of Sarasota’s sought-after West of the Trail area.

It’s just minutes from downtown shopping and the arts, the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport and Siesta Key. In fact, the North Siesta Key Bridge is just around the corner, giving homeowners and guests easy access to one of the top beaches in the United States.

Another major plus of this property is an amazing sense of privacy. Dense foliage, including specimen plantings and majestic oaks, plus the large size of the lot means you’ll enjoy 360 degrees of privacy, an asset that can be hard to find in Sarasota.

If you’re looking for the perfect property to build your dream house on, look no further. And when it’s complete, there’s also room for a guest house, a pool, a cabana, a tennis court and even a miniature golf course. (I might have gotten carried away with that one, but really, anything is possible on this vast property.)

You just have to see it to believe this property’s possibilities. So grab a chilled glass of sangria (it is summer, after all) and take a peek at the cinema tour. Watching this video is like walking through the property yourself, so you’re in for a treat. Once you’ve seen the tour, don’t delay. This property is going to go fast. But don’t worry – I’ve got my phone right here next to me, waiting for your call.

Harbor Acres at its Best

Harbor Acres Sarasota FLFor decades, Harbor Acres has been one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in Sarasota.

It offers stunning views of the Bayfront, elegant waterfront and garden homes and convenience to the best areas in Sarasota. The neighborhood is just a short walk to the ever popular shops and restaurants in downtown Sarasota and Southside Village.

Professionals, retired executives and families make their home in Harbor Acres, seeking the classic charm of the quiet Sarasota community.

Harbor Acres Real Estate Sarasota FLIt can be hard to find the perfect home in Harbor Acres for one main reason – people don’t want to leave. Harbor Acres homeowners tend to live there for many years, so when a stunning Harbor Acres home goes on the market, you have to snap it up quickly.

That’s why I’m so excited about my new listing at 1204 Hillview Drive in Harbor Acres. It’s a timeless 7,600+-square-foot home , listed for $7,750,000, built in 2008 and designed by award-winning architect Clifford M. Scholz.

Harbor Acres Luxury Homes Sarasota FLScholz is known for his stunning coastal classic homes. In fact, a Scholz-designed home on Longboat Key was a finalist last year in the Wall Street Journal’s House of the Year awards.

The five-bedroom+ home at 1204 Hillview Drive has sweeping Bayfront views that span the tip of Harbor Acres. All the major rooms enjoy beautiful views plus the two 50’ terraces are perfect spots to enjoy a glass of wine while watching the nightly sunsets.

The resort-like pool area is the ideal spot for entertaining and enjoying some weekend family fun. A refreshing swim in the pool can be followed by a bay cruise – the home includes a dock for quick and easy boating expeditions.

Sarasota…a water lovers paradise

When most people think about the waterfront in the Sarasota area, they think of our gorgeous white sandy beaches on our Barrier Islands.  This recent Michael Saunders Blog shares waterfront lifestyles on the beach, on the Bayfront, on canals, rivers, bayous and creeks.  I am thrilled that it names one of my listings at 2300 Wason Road with 300’ on the scenic Phillippi Creek as a great example of waterfront living.

Relax and enjoy the view!  Serene bay waters beckon you to pull up your lounge chair and soak up nature at its best!  Find your perfect spot poolside  on the oversized deck or dockside for the fishing/boating enthusiasts.  On over a half an acre West of the Trail, this gated property is at the end of a cul-de-sac with sunset exposures.  With a very open floor plan, all major rooms view the waterfront.  Two of the bedrooms face the waterfront and open to private patios.  Conviently located near the South Bridge to Siesta Key, shopping and restaurants.

We're sorry, but we couldn't find MLS # A3981288 in our database. This property may be a new listing or possibly taken off the market. Please check back again.
