Downtown Days

Sarasota’s downtown is booming, and it’s never been a better time to live in the heart of it all. There are so many options, from Palm Avenue to the Five Points Park area to the Rosemary District to Laurel Park. There truly is the perfect condo or house for everyone here. I recently sold a stunning condo in Beau Ciel, a beautiful collection of luxury units next to the Hyatt Regency Sarasota. This condo showcases the gracious size of units that are available in the downtown market. It’s 3,412 square feet with three bedrooms and four bathrooms. It also has incredible Bay views, another wonderful benefit of living downtown.

There are so many new projects going up in downtown Sarasota. One that I’m particularly excited about is Auteur . This condo tower has a Boulevard of the Arts location and looks out on The Bay, a 53-acre site that’s set to become a public park and destination for recreation and performing arts. The residences in this building will have top-of-the-line finishes and walls of glass with panoramic bay views. Auteur is certain to offer luxury at every turn and the excitement of living downtown.

Two of the best places to live in downtown Sarasota aren’t new construction. They’ve been mainstays for quite a while – and for good reason.
Bay Plaza was designed by architect Tim Seibert of the Sarasota School of Architecture. First occupied in 1982, it includes 100 luxury condos. This classic complex is right in the heart of downtown. It offers a 24-7 valet and concierge service along with a pool, spa and fitness center. If you choose to make Bay Plaza home, you’ll have great views of the bay and wonderful restaurants just steps away, all in the heart of the downtown entertainment district.

Another longtime favorite is Sarabande . The condominium tower on Palm Avenue offers a pool, gym and beautiful sunset views from units with high ceilings and large windows. This exclusive building only has 57 residences, from one-bedroom, two-bath units to five-bedroom, six-bath layouts. Here you’ll have an easy walk to Island Park and Marina Jack. This community, home to discerning residents, is close to all downtown has to offer.

There are lots of new opportunities to enjoy the walkability of downtown by living in Sarasota’s Rosemary District or Laurel Park. In the Rosemary District, Vanguard Lofts will offer modern, urban living. From here you can walk to shops and restaurants in Rosemary or take a few more steps and experience the farmers market, theater and dining downtown. The units in this building have open floor plans and outdoor living space.

BLVD Sarasota provides another opportunity to live in the Rosemary District. This new 18-story tower will have 49 modern condos. Residents here will be treated to resort-style amenities along with waterfront and city views. And like all good downtown locations, living here will also give residents a chance to enjoy retail therapy and eclectic dining options.

A sense of style and history abounds in the Laurel Park neighborhood adjacent to downtown. The Enclave at Laurel Park is an intriguing new development of townhomes that provides proximity to downtown and a quiet place to come home to. These three-bedroom, three-story townhomes are high on convenience with elevators and two-car garages.

Whether your preference is new construction or classic condo tower, townhome or tower living, making downtown Sarasota your home base will allow you to explore all the city has to offer on a regular basis. You’ll love experiencing the restaurants, theaters, galleries and boutiques. When you live here, all you’ll have to do is step outside your door.
