Spotlight on Southside Village & My Ultra-Private Listing

West of the Trail, Southside Village-Style

Southside Village has been a Sarasota gem for years. There’s just something about this chic West-of-the-Trail neighborhood. It has a small-town, walkable feel with lots of elegant dining and shopping options.
With so many different neighborhoods to choose from there is something for everyone.  Harbor Acres is without a doubt the most sought after neighborhood in town with large properties on the water and close proximity to Downtown.   Family friendly Cherokee Park is within walking distance to Southside Elementary School.  There is a major transformation of the Flower Streets.  Oyster Bay is one of Sarasota’s classic and historic waterfront neighborhoods steeped in history dating back to the 1910’s -20’s.
It’s certainly one of my favorite areas in Sarasota, so I thought I would highlight a few of my Southside Village favorites here. And don’t miss the end of my newsletter – I share all the details about my ultra-private waterfront listing that’s minutes from Southside Village.
In the Market for Some Delicious Food?
Morton’s Gourmet Market is a Southside Village staple. This independent, upscale grocery store is the perfect place to shop for a tasty dinner, a sophisticated hostess gift or a dozen delectable pastries. You’re missing out if you haven’t filled your cart at this friendly, family-owned destination.

No Fishing for Compliments Here
A newer addition to the Southside Village neighborhood, Veronica Fish and Oyster Bar has been the talk of the town. Looking for refreshing cocktails and to-die-for grilled and raw oysters? Veronica is the place. And you’ll be knocked out by the restaurant’s fun modern industrial décor that makes eating there not just a meal but an event.
Where Everybody Knows Your Name
For a neighborhood watering hole feel, try Knick’s Tavern & Grill . This casual destination has one of the best hamburgers in town. But if a burger doesn’t suit your fancy, there are lots of other options, like the Famous Knick’s Salad, chicken pot pie, meatloaf and prime rib. Plus there’s wine and beer aplenty here!
Perq Right Up
We all need a quick caffeine fix sometimes. You’ll find lots of locals sipping on warm cups of tea and coffee at Perq Coffee Bar . Perq sources coffee from around the world with a mission of being socially and environmentally responsible. The sofas and tables at this hot spot make it a great place to catch up with a friend or gather for a casual business meeting.
A Waterfront View All to Yourself
Just minutes from Southside Village is one of the most unique listings I’ve ever had – 3250 Old Oak Drive . Ultra-privacy meets Florida elegance at this nearly 2.8-acre waterfront property near the North Siesta Key Bridge that’s listed for $3.95 million. With sweeping views of Sarasota Bay, a yard full of tall oak trees and 360 degrees of privacy, this is the kind of place you don’t see every day. Discover the beauty of this property yourself by watching the cinema tour . Then imagine all of the possibilities – your next home sweet home could be right here!
