SARASOTA’S LUXURY HOMES SOLD IN 2014

Siesta Key luxury single family home sales outpaced all other areas in the  Sarasota area.  In 2014, there were 34 single family homes sold with values over $3,000,000.  Fourteen of these properties are located on magnificent Siesta Key.  In addition,  the three highest priced sales in the area are located on Siesta Key.

The highest priced home sold in 2014 belongs to 7712 Sanderling Road.  A stunning, Modern Beachfront estate in The Sanderling Club with a sales price of $11,850,000.  Closely followed by Siesta Key’s  classic Gulf Front estate at  4300 Higel Avenue which sold for $10,975,000.   Guy Peterson’s uber contemporary beachfront estate in The Sanderling Club became the third highest price 2014 home sale.

The Vue and The Sarasota School of Architecture

Last week, two of my passions melded: architecture and real estate.

The Sarasota Architecture Foundation members were invited to “Meet the Architects” of the new Vue Sarasota Bay and Westin Hotel. Dan Wolfe, partner, and Igor Reyes, lead project architect, of Coral Gables Architect firm: Nichols Brosch Worst Wolfe & Associates gave us all the insight.

While Dan Wolfe introduced us to his firm and their accomplishments, Igor Reyes gave us “his heart”. To be asked to build a statement hotel and residential tower in a city with their own school of architecture was, at first, rather daunting to Igor. He reviewed and studied our very own designs and was determined to pay tribute to the Sarasota School.

The contemporary design of the Vue with its floor- to- ceiling windows, free flowing rooms and expansive terraces that create a seamless integration of interior and exterior living and will fill the units with natural light while showcasing the panoramic views of Sarasota Bay. It’s a stunning building and promises to be an vibrant place to live.

I loved it when Igor talked about the site location on the northwest corner of US 41 and Gulfstream Blvd. “All roads in Sarasota eventually lead to this site”…it’s the entry to Downtown Sarasota, as well as to the iconic Ringling Bridge leading to St. Armand’s Circle and Lido, Bird and Longboat Keys.
