Get to Know4th-Generation Realtor Marcia Salkin

For some, real estate is a job. For Marcia Salkin, it’s a calling. Real Estate entered the Salkin family with Marcia’s great-grandfather, who purchased and sold property to make a living. Her grandfather sold buildings, including many apartment complexes. Her father was a realtor who was known for the relationships he built with his clients. He got to know them, made friends with them, and worked with integrity to ensure they found exactly what they were looking for. 

Marcia continued the family tradition and became a 4th-generation realtor in 1982. She grew up in landbound Louisville and attended Ohio State for college, but soon after realized that water was what was going to set her career apart. 

Her sales moved south to Longboat, Lido, and Bird Key, and then further south to Siesta Key. Her early sales were made up of fabulous cottages, and of course plenty of luxurious condos on the beach. 

The 1990’s included high sales on the mainland, and the 2000’s were spent working with a high-end developer and selling large, well-positioned waterfront homes (which are now back in vogue). 

Today, Marcia Salkin sells luxury, waterfront properties in the Sarasota area. She made Sarasota’s highest sale in 2013 at $10,000,000, was named Christie’s International Real Estate Luxury Specialist in 2014, made the highest sale in Sarasota County in 2016, and holds the current record sale prices for both Siesta Key and Bird Key. 

She’s received the Five Star Customer Satisfaction Award every year since its creation, consistently ranks in the top 1% of the Sarasota Area Board of Realtors, and has been voted “Best in Client Satisfaction” for nine years straight.
