Happy Labor Day

Happy Labor Day! With such beautiful weather (some rain in the forecast), you may want to get out and enjoy the holiday weekend in some of Sarasota’s most incredible up-and-coming places. A few of my favorites are listed below:

Rosemary District Dining

The OvertonThis adorable restaurant is filled with cozy seating both indoors and outdoors. From morning coffees to the evening bar and specialty meals in between, this spot is perfect for any occasion.

You can also catch the Rosemary Night Market at the Overton this Tuesday, September 7th. It’s a monthly event you won’t want to miss! Find all the details on their Facebook page here.

Spice Station — This incredible spot is right next door to The Overton. Spice Station offers fabulous Thai food and sushi for evenings of exquisite dining.

Artisan Cheese Factory — Don’t forget to grab an amazing cheese board from the same block! This shop offers cheese to go as well as a delicious lunch menu.

UTC Eats

On the other end of town, the University Town Center had three new restaurants open over the summer:

Cooper’s Hawk — Enjoy a night of fine dining at this new —and well-loved— winery and restaurant.

Ford’s Garage — Enjoy a burger, craft beer, and plenty of Ford antiques at this fun, old car-themed restaurant.

Selva Grill — This is the second Selva location, with the first being a big hit downtown. The high-end feel and Peruvian flavors are a favorite for all!

These aren’t the only awesome spots in UTC — Sarasota is growing quickly, and this part of town is absolutely filled with incredible shops and restaurants.

City Improvements

No one enjoys road construction, but the roundabouts going into our communities are going to be a great long-term change. The two most recently-added roundabouts are along U.S. 41 at 10th Street and Fruitville Road and another in the works at Gulfstream Avenue.
Just imagine how easy our streets will drive once they’re completed! They’re predicted to bring:

  • Fewer crashes
  • Slower speeds
  • Better vehicle flow
  • Reduced noise pollution

More great roundabout benefits for our city can be found in this article as well.

Real Estate in July

Sarasota’s market is changing rapidly. We had our first decrease since May 2020, but low inventory, low-interest rates, and an incredible number of buyers continue to keep the market hot. It’s still an incredible time to join in, listing your luxury home for a top-dollar price or making Sarasota your forever home with the interest rates of a lifetime.

Homes are going fast, so be sure to contact me quickly if you’re ready to find your dream home. And if summer’s close has brought life changes and you’re ready to sell your home, feel free to reach out as well. No matter which direction you choose, it’s a great time to strategize your next move.

Have a great holiday weekend!
Marcia
