Happy Memorial Weekend! As we enter into the unofficial kickoff of summer, I’m feeling a little extra thankful for the incredible community we live in. Below are just a few of the events worth taking advantage of this month:
St. Armands Summer Series
Throughout the month of June, St. Armands Circle won’t just be for shopping and dining. The location will host live music, art festivals, yoga sessions, and family days as well. Follow this link to find a full explanation of each exciting event.
On the Lawn: Bay Music Live! At Van Wezel
On Saturday, June 12th, head over to Van Wezel to take in live tunes from Jah Movement — a group focusing on innovative reggae, R&B, soul, and funk beats. The unique, award-winning artists are sure to get you up on your feet.
Friday Night Art Walks
Every Friday night, Downtown Sarasota will be covered in the work of talented creators. Come out to experience their incredible art, and enjoy live music and outdoor dining along the way. Simply walk the sidewalks from 5-8 pm to take in all there is to offer.
Kids’ Summer Beach Runs
Even the kids have something special to look forward to this summer! Every Tuesday, a free 1-mile run will be hosted at Siesta Beach. Wednesdays will look similar at Brohard Park. Finisher’s ribbons will be provided at each event and a free t-shirt can be earned after four attendances.
Museums to Beat the Heat
We all know how warm our weather can get, and sometimes it’s necessary to take a few hours to cool off indoors. Our incredible museums are the perfect way to relax in a calm and cool space.
The Sarasota Art Museum has something new to experience at every visit. The Bistro is adorable and filled with great food options, and the last Sunday of each month is always free to attend.
The Ringling is currently featuring Kakubi, a type of Japanese popular theater, well-known local artist Sam Gilliam, and many more awe-striking exhibits.
Convenient Trips Out of Town
Another great way to beat the heat — Elite Airlines is offering new, nonstop trips to White Plains, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, and Portland, Maine. Take in new sights while enjoying the cooler temperatures the states above us have to offer.
As you spend your summer season relaxing in Sarasota, don’t forget that it’s still an incredible time to sell your luxury home. You’re sure to receive a top-dollar offer, and my experience in real estate allows me to support you in any market — even the highly competitive one we’re in today.
